Days 1-2 Hop on a charter flight over Costa Rica's fertile Central Valley and the Talamanca mountain range to San Isidro del General | Discover life on a farm and learn how to make sugar at a trapiche (sugarcane mill) | Fly through the jungle canopy on a zip line.

Day 3 Tropical forests, pristine beaches and volcanic cliffs provide the backdrop as kids horseback ride and adults hike to a waterfall | A local family invites us into their home for lunch | Hike through the rain forest to our remote jungle safari hotel | Kick back on your lodge's private deck or go for a plunge on the 100-foot long waterslide.

Day 4 Make a splash on a thrilling white-water rafting excursion on Río Savegre | Walk through Manuel Antonio National Park with an expert who helps us spot white-faced monkeys, butterflies, sloths and iguanas | Enjoy sunset and a dip in the warm Pacific at our beachfront retreat.

Days 5-6 Kids paint their own Boruca masks with an indigenous artist | Grown-ups beach walk, kayak, horseback ride, surf or relax in a hammock | Pedal on the beach, then turn inland through a landscape of banana and African palm trees | Enjoy a beachfront yoga class or a morning seaside stroll.
